The OrganLink

You might be thinking what is OrganLink ? ,Wondering what the buzz is about OrganLink? Imagine this: you're in a tight spot, urgently needing intel on the availability of a vital organ in your hometown. Do you really want to rely on the hit-or-miss world of social media posts or the local gossip ? Trust me, you'd have better luck finding a needle in a haystack. This is exactly where OrganLink comes in and saves the day ... Let me explain how it does so.

Introduction

OrganLink bridges the gap between the needful and the helpful , a gap that has been existing in the society for a good amount of time with not much prior solution built for easiness of the general and middle aged public . Here the institutions can come and list out what organ they have for available in there org so that the general user in our platform can see what they have available at this moment , Okay ? so it is that simple institution can come , list out and the users can see .... what is special about it?

Features

  1. Distance Based Filter

we offer the user to filter the hospital that has that specific organ available based on the distance radius the user chose , As we all know in case of organ's the time plays a very crucial role and distance between the needful and the helpful is an important factor that decides the faith . OrganLink has 4 type of distance filters to allow users to actually filter all institutions providing that organ specifically from nearest to farthest in that km radius

  2. Emergency Alerts

There may be a situation where there is an urgent need of organ Transplantation needed by a hospital for one of its patient , but they doesn't have it ? Now what ? Is the patient's life in threat ? Thinking about it we came up with the idea of Emergency Alerts that enables the institutions to push a emergency alerts via SMS to every user registered in the database within 50km radius instantaneously , with the custom message . Thus solves the problem to the utmost possible extent by notifying the General public and the institutions about the need of it

  3. Inquiry

We have also implemented a inquiry based system inside the dashboard for every specific organ posted by the institution , [NOTE] they are separate for every organ they post and will be displayed in order of the first message arrival from the General User . They can inquire about the general stuff , availability etc.

What is this built on ?

The tech stack we chose for realizing our project idea is MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js). Our decision was primarily influenced by our familiarity with React and its ecosystem. Leveraging React for both frontend and backend development streamlined our workflow, eliminating the need for context-switching between different languages. This not only enhanced development speed but also promoted code consistency throughout the project.
